Concord

Concord with a population of about 130,000 is the largest city in Contra Costa County and 29 miles East of San Francisco.  The climate is Mediterranean with hot dry Summers and cool Winters.  While many of the homes are mid-century, significant expansion occurred in the 80’s and 90’s.  In North Concord a new development is planned for homes, business and schools in what was the Concord Navy Weapons site.  To-dos Santos Square represents Concord’s downtown area, where weekly farmers markets and community events are held.

Concord has a rich assortment of restaurants and shopping areas.  Concord has its own airport, is served by the County bus service, and is connected with major freeways. The Concord Pavilion is a major regional concert venue. Concord was the home of jazz musician Dave Brubeck, and the actor Tom Hanks was born in Concord.
