Orinda

Orinda, once named the second friendliest town in American, was incorporated in 1986 and now has a population of about 20,000. It was once a favorite Summer retreat for wealthy San Franciscans. After completion of the Caldecutt tunnel, the town grew. Known for its great schools and nice golf courses, Orinda is an affluent community. The California Shakespeare Theater performs June to October annually at the Bruns Memorial Amphitheater. In addition to its trails and many parks, Orinda borders the Tilden Regional Park for outdoor activities. Orinda is served by a BART station and Hwy 24.
